Brilldor Jewellery - Unique, bespoke, design high-end jewel creations with diamond, pearl, colored gem stone by multiple award winning designers. Brilldor - Unique, bespoke, design high-end jewel creations Our Philosophy Let us introduce ourselves – we are wizards of goldsmithing, who try to capture life in metals and gemstones. We believe in handmade made with time and precision. In our work we use only the best materials, i.e. precious metal alloys, diamonds because they enhance the beauty of the other, helping us to create unique and convivial timeless pieces. Orsi and Dani, multiple award winning designers and jewellers. Having studied and worked in the design field over many years we focus our work on stunning three-dimensional designs. Why do we do it? Because such is exceptional, very rare and similar to a statue, which unfolds the new appearance from different angle. It is also true that preparation of a three-dimensional design jewellery requires much more time and efforts and a complex vision, but due to this we are able to embed a lot of personal symbols and hidden messages. We took part in numerous high-end jewel International professional design competitions and won over 56 awards around the globe with diamond, gemstone, pearl, opal and many more bespoke pieces. Dubai jewellery design awards 1st prize interview Is our profession and our way of thinking and we create wearable treasures, which are practical and comfortable to wear so the person can enjoy it everyday. We strive to achieve the combination of outstanding quality and unique designs to suit and reflect the individual personalities of the people who wear them. In our workshop we combine both the cutting-edge 21st century technology and ancient manual goldsmithing techniques. Man-made items that have been put together with time and great craftsmanship show unique details, quality and soul. Our philosophy is to go against the flow of mass production because we prefer to concentrate on quality rather than quantity. Man made high-end, award winning, design-jewellery creations As we hand-craft, we produce small quantities. The process is slow, but each piece becomes unique. We have a degree from Hungarian and Applied Art College so we strive to use the rich art and historical background of Hungarian culture with a modern flavour. Add to this a passion for using only the highest quality gemstones and producing products to exceptional standards and the resulting output becomes as breath-taking as the panorama of Budapest. Our Design and Awards Long time ago we were invited to take part in our first competition and since then participation in design contests became a part of our life. You may ask why we do it – the answer is simple – it gives us an opportunity to release our creative energy and to challenge ourselves. Jewellery competitions boost our creativity and make our long-cherished dreams come true. Dubai Design Awards 2011, Absolute 1st pize You can find videos about award winning jewellery pieces HERE. Moreover while participating in different contests around the world we meet with high-caliber professionals from industry and have an opportunity to exchange experience and share ideas for mutual professional enrichment. Just a few examples - through the International Tahitian Pearl Trophy we have gained a deeper understanding and thus use them very often in our non-competing pieces as well. Similarly we have become close to opals, diamonds and have come up with such novel combinations of form, material and function such as the seashell shaped mobile phone, stingray skin jewellery sandals or precious wood magic stick adorned with diamonds. Below you may find some pictures of high-end jewel our trophies-wining creations. Dubai Design Awards 2013, a new trophy You can find videos about award winning HERE. We have an inner need to keep creating new jewellery specialties and to develop our skills and test our boundaries through challenges. International design competitions provide good opportunites for this, and we have won an unprecedented 56 awards thus far. We believe our success lies mainly in our knowledge of a more or less forgotten craft, our multidimentional designs and an aesthetic that is close to the natural tastes of people. It brings us great joy, that due to our success, we are increasingly asked to create special pieces based on specific needs. In such cases we create a large number of designs from which the client can chose the one that is most to her liking, most fits her taste. As a result, we have a great number of ideas and designs that have not yet left the drawing board or come to life. We take inspiration from these when we are creating for our own pleasure. OUR MOST RECENT AWARD WINNING CREATION, 2017 USA 1st prize winning coctail ring, 2017 USA You can find videos about award winning pieces HERE. Jewellery Creation Process Personalised, custom design high-end jewel preparations by appointment Crafting of Brilldor is proceded by meticulous planning and preparation. The inspiration behind our pieces varies, it may be an unusual gemstone, a competition or a previous, successful design, but they are designed with multidimensional forms and their harmony in mind. We hand sketch the jewellery shape at length, taking functionality, comfort, durability and protection of gemstones and pearls in mind. Hand drawn skeches in Brilldor jewellery workshop When one of the sketches is chosen to be crafted, we scan the traditional hand drawing to a computer and refine the lines, the rhythm and examine the overall impact. Most jewellery makers start crafting directly from the hand sketches thus relying on rough estimates rather than careful measurements. We believe that this method leads to discrepancy between the original plans and the actual outcome, and often the original spark or appeal that was in the plans is lost. This is why we use design software to refine our plans; we believe that it is this stage that decides how impressive the jewellery items will actually be. Refining the design by computer in 2d high-end jewel After we have made a two dimensional drawing of clear and fine lines, we move onto thinking about the various sides and angles of the item. This again is a point when many unexpected anomalies in shape and executability may arise. These play a part in refining the main face of the piece and also allow us to add more intricate detail and subtlety to the small item. 3d sculpture-like CAD design in creation process At the next stage of the process, we create three dimensional shapes with the help of the design software which allows us to notice and resolve imperfections. This new technology allows us to examine the design from all angles so we easily recognise if there is a break in a curve, a crease on a surface or any other problem that needs to be resolved. When the design process in completed, we need to make decisions, unique, bespoke about the crafting method based on the shape, material and complexity of the piece. The crafting of the item is either done completely by hand, or by making a mould of certain details with a high-precision 3D printer and creating the precious gold metal version of the part based on that. White gold ring creation by hand in Brilldor workshop The refining of the piece by hand and the building together high-end jewel of parts requires a substantial amount of practice as well as special tools and technology. In our case, we also rely on teamwork, as we primarily create one-off unique items and often we find ourselves facing new challenges. So we put our heads together, and everyone shares their best ideas. To create specialities like ours, we need exceptional goldsmiths who are not only gifted in their manual abilities but also have a strong sense of style and aesthetics, are intelligent, resourceful and open to new challenges every day of the week. So, as our exceptional creations and awards show, teamwork is highly important. The finished piece is then taken to the Assay's Office where the item receives and internationally certified hallmark stamp that verifies the guaranteed standard of fineness of the metals used, the name and integrity of the maker and the year the piece was made and tested. Internationally accepted jewellery hallmarks of Hungary, based on the Hallmarking Concention Afterwards, the completed high-end jewel precious metal piece has to undergo a number of short processes. It is at this stage that the carefully selected gemstones, diamonds and/or are set, by an outstandingly gifted and knowledgeable colleague who ensures the settings are both protective and attractive. This is done under a microscope with meticulous precision and at an artistic level. It is at this stage when decorative engraving, enamels, decorative and enhancing treatments are also applied to the piece. Microscopic art, stone setting under microscope bespoke The finished object is then photographed, its data high-end jewel, unique, bespoke archived before we place them in elegant packaging and create a warranty certificate or "passport". We call this document a "passport" because it is our belief that the jewellery specialities that we create are so durable and captivating that they will be cherished heirlooms for generations to come. Materials We Use At Brilldor we strive to create exceptional often using special and unusual technologies. Our attitude to gemstones is the same. We prefer to work with clear, nicely cut authentic gemstones. Customers can find exceptionally valuable as well as more affordable pieces in our collection, to suit their price range. High quality We are extremely careful when high-end jewel choosing larger. Every diamond is a unique creation of Mother Nature and no two are alike. Apart from relying on reliable and renowned sources, we also check that the cut of the diamond is ideal, as it defines its shine, as well as verifying that the colour and the clarity of the diamond is of high quality, when choosing the diamonds we work with. We provide an international certificate with all our larger diamonds, mostly from the renowned GIA, IGI or HRD laboratories. Artistic, complex shape designed parts, highlighted by line of sparkling briliant cut bespoke. Smaller: We often use smaller to adorn our pieces, as they can create a wonderful effect and greatly enhance the appearance of. We have found that they wonderfully highlight the rich forms of our pieces, creating a beautiful contrast and a greater impact on polished or matte finishes. At the same time, small diamonds break down smooth surfaces thereby making the surface of jewellery more delicate and light, while also increasing the durability and strength of the pieces. Given their affordability, smaller diamonds do not significantly increase the price of jewellery, but do greatly increase their beauty. Because of their lower value, the larger gem cutting workshops and gemstone traders are not as vigilant about the quality of small, and indeed some small on offer are of quite low quality. While this might not be an issue for companies who mass produce, but we want to create high quality valuables that last. As carefully selected small diamonds are not readily available, they have to be sought out. This had been a problem we have had to face for most of our career, but now, we can proudly say that we have found a dependable source for small diamonds, and so we are able to offer outstanding quality in this regard as well. Our diamonds are visibly superior to the diamonds generally on offer. While the difference is most profound under a microscope, one does not have to be a gemstone specialist to notice the difference in the sparkle of set diamonds. Princess diamond and small briliant cut high-end jewel, in "Countess" engagement ring Bespoke About in Brilldor: are sovereign among gemstones. Their hardness is exceptional and their ability to shine (refractive index) is outstanding, to name but two of their superior qualities. Perhaps it is only their price and cleavage that makes them short of perfection. We use diamonds both as central stones in our pieces and in rows of small diamonds that allow us to "draw" on the surface. Brilldor jewellery items are usually richly designed intricate, multidimensional pieces with tangled lines. The application of small diamonds not only allows us to draw on the surfaces but is also instrumental in breaking down surfaces and creating a light, ethereal effect. The sparkling details created by rows of small diamonds create contrast on polished or matte surfaces, thereby highlighting and enhancing their effect. Rare, beautiful pure white platinum metal content high-end jewel white gold alloys, bespoke. Special gold alloys: A great proportion of Brilldor creations bespoke have been designed and created with the, unique, bespoke use of special materials. These materials are more expensive than those used in mass production, or the metals used to make ordinary. However, they possess a number of positive qualities, including the facts that they are whiter than the common materials, hypoallergenic, safe for stone setting, and do not have to be plated. Plating is most often used to high-end jewel conceal the yellow tones of white gold (with rhodium) which can wear off with time. While it is possible to re-plate such, with time and wear, the plating will once again rub off. Brilldor design pearl, unique, bespoke Pearls: Initially we have not included pearls in our high-end jewel designs, because their round shape is difficult to work with. However, due to various competitions we had to face and conquer this difficulty. In the process, we realized that these pieces are the most extraordinary, and based on the demand, our clients seemed to agree. So, we too have grown to like working with. Pearls are perhaps the gemstones that are formed with the least human intervention involved, as they are not mined or cut, but rather are naturally formed in oysters and are merely cleaned by man before becoming commercially available, to adorn jewellery. Unfortunately, due to climate change, environmental pollution and exploitative bespoke practices of mass production, very few natural pearls are born. These are not commercially available any more. Instead, pearls are farmed, by farmers artificially stimulating the oysters so that a pearl sac is formed. The culturing of pearls, which involves intervention and monitoring, is a widely used process. Such are by no means all the same. There are processes that can artificially mass produce cheap varieties and processes that are very much like the birth of natural pearls, to create expensive such as the Tahitian or the South-Sea. There are also imitation, treated and enhanced pearls. Tahitian pearl barcelet with lines of high-end jewel briiliant cut However, at Brilldor, we take great high-end jewel pride in using exceptionally rare Tahitian pearls that have not been artificially treated. The value of pearls is determined by their shape, surface, lustre, size, colour and rarity. We like unique and rare pearls as they make our extraordinary creations even more exclusive and unusual. Pearls are water based gemstones. They are sensitive to dehydration, physical harm, alkali, acid and other corrosive chemicals, perfume and perspiration. Storing them in a glass cabinet under direct light, in sunlight or even near a heat source (such as a fireplace or radiator) may dehydrate and destroy them. We suggest that pearl be put on after make-up and styling, high-end jewel, unique, bespoke vand taken off immediately after an event. It is advisable to clean pearls with a damp cloth before putting them away, which not only cleans but also helps rehydrate the pearls. In fact, can be stored with a damp cloth to aid rehydration. Soaking is not advisable, as they might loosen. When are strung, an adhesive is used to secure the beads onto the metal wire. The life expectancy of this is limited, so it is a good idea to renew the fastening of the pearls from time to time. Moreover, pearls are relatively soft, so their beauty can easily be tarnished by outside influences. It is worth taking special care of them. Larger pearls are less vulnerable, and, in the long run, a protective design can significantly help to preserve beauty and value of pearl jewellery. Award winning tahitian pearl brooch/pendant Tahitian Pearls: Our love of Tahitian pearls goes high-end jewel back to our days competing for the famous Tahitian Pearl Trophy, also known as the Olympics of Jewellery-makers, which had brought us great success. Nowadays, we also work with many varieties of freshwater and salt-water pearls, from the less expensive mother of pearl to the South Sea, depending on our clients' needs. Regarding the use of Tahitian pearls to adorn our jewellery pieces, we pride ourselves in using only those very rare pearls that are guaranteed to not have undergone any kind of treatment. Design pendant with opal Opals: We recognize the superior hardness of, their high-end jewel outstanding sparkle and the amazing effect they have adorning, but nothing can be as diverse and unique as an opal, of which no two are alike. Opals come in different shapes and in all the colours of the rainbow. In terms of shape, the possibilities seem endless. From oval or round shapes to free shapes, fantasy and all kinds of unusual shapes, they are a dream come true for designers. Their size is significant, because they provide an opportunity for creative expression and interestingly shaped designs. Opal jewellery pieces are quite special, but they require exceptional care when being worn or stored. As they are water based gemstones they must be protected from dehydration and it is advisable to store opals wrapped in a damp cloth over night to rehydrate them. Storing them in a glass cabinet under direct light, in sunlight or even near a heat source (such as a fireplace or radiator) may dehydrate and destroy them. Award winning black opal pendant Opals are mineraloids which are high-end jewel formed from precipitation picking up minerals and, unique, bespoke then collecting in puddles in voids and fossilizing. As they start life in liquid form, only small quantities can collect, and the available opal stones are not thick. In fact, in most cases they are very thin, thus they are extremely sensitive to impact, pressure of physical harm. Larger solid opals are rare and expensive, but there are several ways of protecting and setting beautiful but thin opal gemstones. One solution is called doublet, whereby the thin slice of opal is adhered together with another gemstone to gain stability. It is a less expensive method, but still brings exceptionally beautiful results. The other solution is creating a meticulously designed protective setting. It is important to keep this in mind, when buying opal jewellery. While opal pendants, earrings, necklaces, brooches are less likely to be harmed as they are less exposed or vulnerable, rings, bracelets and cuff-links have to endure more physical harm during wear. Personalized, custom made trillion cut ruby ring with, unique, bespoke 14k/18k gold alloys: Due to cultural differences the number of karats in the gold used varies from country to country and region to region. Meaning, that the gold used within a given country or region has the same fineness (9k, 10k, 14k, 22k). However, we feel that 18k is used to make special around the world. It is perhaps this fineness that has the optimal level of physical and chemical properties. 18 karats is a great choice in terms of the workability of the metal and gemstone settings as well. In many cases, Brilldor's white gold pieces are crafted from 14k gold. The reason for this is that traditional white gold alloys have some shortcomings and so we have chosen to work with a special gold alloy. With this variety of gold, it is the 14k rather than the 18k gold that is best for our purposes. Naturally, we can craft these jewellery items out of 18k gold upon request. Unique richly shape designed golden pendant with briliant cut and jade carving leaf, unique, bespoke Discolouration: Oxidation does not occur on gold, but high-end jewel gold alloys may react to their environment. Lower karat metals have more alloys in them which may cause them to yellow or brown. This phenomenon is most common with yellow or red (rose gold). Fortunately, this is not an irreversible change. Restoration returns such jewellery to their original colour. Traditional white gold also has yellow tones and carries the original colour of gold. Most often such jewellery is plated in rhodium, which is a platinum metal to make used to make jewellery look whiter, but rhodium flashing is not permanent. Daily wear can cause the rhodium plating to rub off allowing the white gold to yellow. Jewellery retailers are not necessarily upfront about rhodium treatments on their jewellery, which often makes customers feel cheated. This is why at Brilldor, we mostly use a special material for white gold. Rather than using the traditional alloys with gold, we add a platinum metal (palladium) to the alloy, which is much more effective in whitening the yellow gold. So it is the material of the jewellery itself that is clear white, because the whiteness is not caused by plating. Another reason to use these types of alloys is that they are less likely t
